छत्तीसगढ़ के मुख्यमंत्री श्री विष्णु देव साय जी ने डॉ अभिषेक वर्मा के पितामह, स्वतंत्रता सेनानी स्व राजकिशोर वर्मा को विशेष सम्मान प्रदान किया। परिवार की ओर से यह सम्मान उनकी चचेरी बहन चेतना वर्मा ने प्राप्त किया।
बिलासपुर के राजकिशोर नगर में स्थापित स्मारक फलक उनके संघर्ष और योगदान का सटीक प्रमाण है। ब्रिटिश शासन के खिलाफ उनकी भागीदारी, 1936 से स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में सक्रिय भूमिका और भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन 1942 में उनका नेतृत्व छत्तीसगढ़ तथा राष्ट्र की ऐतिहासिक स्मृति में महत्वपूर्ण स्थान रखता है।
स्व राजकिशोर वर्मा ने जनजागरण और सामाजिक एकता को जीवनभर मजबूत किया। यह सम्मान वर्मा परिवार की विरासत और देश के सभी स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को समर्पित है।

November 15, 2025, was a moment of pride for The Verma Family.
The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, bestowed a special honor upon Dr. Abhishek Verma's grandfather, the freedom fighter late Rajkishore Verma. This honor was received on behalf of the family by his cousin sister, Chetna Verma.
The memorial plaque established in Rajkishore Nagar, Bilaspur, is a precise testament to his struggle and contribution. His participation against British rule, active role in the freedom movement since 1936, and leadership in the Quit India Movement of 1942 hold an important place in the historical memory of Chhattisgarh and the nation.
The late Rajkishore Verma strengthened public awakening and social unity throughout his life. This honor is dedicated to The Verma family's legacy and to all the freedom fighters of the country.
