Why Congress Fears ‘Emergency’ ~ Kangana’s Indira & Anupam’s JP Expose the Irony of Dynastic Politics

Just watched Emergency — Anupam Kher’s portrayal of Jaiprakash Narain is absolutely outstanding. Having met JPN with my father Late Shrikant Verma in the late 70s, I can vouch for the authenticity of Anupam Kher’s performance.

Kangana Ranaut has done a brilliant job portraying Indira Gandhi in a balanced way, showing both strengths and flaws. Ironically, the film has more compliments for Indira Gandhi than criticism—yet, Congressis created unnecessary outrage when the film was released just to please the Gandhi family.

I was 12-13 years old during these events, and my father, was Indira Gandhi’s closest MP’s who coined the iconic slogans for the 1980 parliamentary elections that brought Indira Gandhi back to power after Janta party rule:

इंदिरा लाओ, देश बचाओ

And

ना जात पर, ना पात पर, 
इंदिराजी की बात पर, 
मुहर लगेगी हाथ पर!

And

Elect a Govt that works

Having witnessed history firsthand, I can confidently say that Emergency the movie, is the most accurate depiction of that era.

Grateful not to be part of the dynastic feudal Congress. Proud to be a part of NDA’s Hindutva ideology.
